We Have the files required to make a dvd, but do not know how to burn it so that It will create an actual self projecting DVD. Can you let us know what program we would need to do this, because toast doesn’t seem to work.
These are the files that we have:
VIDEO_TS
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VIDEO_TS.BUP
AUDIO_TS
Thanks,
Nick

Just select in toast that you want to burn a DVD disc, and put the VIDEO_TS folder in the window of stuff to be burned, and then burn it.

NOTE: As mentioned in other posts, simply dragging the VIDEO_TS folder to TOAST does not produce a DVD that will work!
Instead, make a new folder on your drive with the following name style
DVD_DISC (Using your movies name in all caps with _ as a space, example Star Wars Episode I = STAR_WARS_EPISODE_1)
Then drag your VIDEO_TS folder to that newly created folder. Likewise, within the newly created folder make an empty AUDIO_TS folder.
Now, drag that newly created folder to toast, and burn as dvd
(See how the title now is the title of the new folder you made!?)
EXAMPLE OF WHAT TO BURN
On your HD
(Folder) STAR_WARS_EPISODE_I - Drag this to toast.
(Sub Folder) VIDEO_TS
(Sub Folder) AUDIO_TS -
also, make sure you click on the "other" button and select DVD before doing anything. I figured that out like 4 movies later and with the help of some of you guys.

I agree with galactica, too many in these forums tell newbies to simply drag the video_ts folder over to toast and burn. They assume everyone knows the exact same thing they do. Well they don't, that's why they are asking these questions. Yes you can drag it into toast but another folder has to be created, either in toast itself, or outside of toast.
Try just dragging a video_ts folder into toast, now lets say you want to put in an audio_ts folder for compatibilty... go ahead and drag it into toast...go on. Now what happened? The audio_ts folder has ended up inside the video_ts folder. DVD's read disc from the folders on them. First they look inside the main folder for sub folders after they find the sub folder with the valid entry point i.e."video_ts", it then goes to work.
this is how it breaks down...
Folder 1 - Main Folder: DVD_MOVIE (This could be anything you want to call it)
Sub-Folders within the Main Folder: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS
I assume that meow n' cool knows how to make a folder on a mac desktop or hard drive so I wiil move on and explain how to make one in toast:
1. When you open toast in the top left side they're are 4 options to choose from: DATA, AUDIO, COPY, and OTHER. Choose "OTHER" and scroll down the list and click on DVD
2. This brings up the DVD option in toast. In the bottom left corner of the main window is a disc icon that will say "New DVD". Click on that and another disc icon will appear in the main window called "untitled folder" rename this to what you want, USING_ALL_CAPS and "_" for spaces.
3. Now go ahead and drag you're VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS to toast and burn. Do not mistakenly put one of the subfolders into the other
In the future jsnkc if you don't have something productive to offer why post in the first place. Unless of course you have some sick fantasy about having people make coasters instead of actual DVD's that work.
I've had to learn most of this stuff the hard way, unfortunately most on these forums give answers like jsnkc. Wish I could've got some straight answers.
Good Luck Meow n' Cool. If you have anymore questions please feel free to private message me.
