yo i have 2 questions.
1. is there any way to add NON-permanent subs (svcd or cvd) to a .mpg without using I-Author (if this is a factor, my subtitles are in a .srt format)
2. just thought i'd throw this in hear, what is the standard widescreen resolution for an svcd

1) WinSubMux allows you to add CVD or SVCD selectable subtitles. I recommend CVD subtitles as they are more likely to work on most standalones (even if you author a SVCD disc). You can d/load it from doom9.org (might be in the tools section to the left).
2) SVCDs only have a DAR of 4:3, you can make an xSVCD that's anamorphic but its not likely to work on most players. If your source has a DAR of 16:9 you should letter box your encoded MPEG file.
