I am unable to play any vcd's in this Hitachi DV-P415U. The information on this site says they are compatible with all types of cd-r's. Any suggestion as to why this player won't play vcd's it would be appreciated.

I downloaded them from the internet and burned them. Is there a way to identify how they were authored. Or can I change their current format?
Thanks for the reply -
So you d/loaded a premade MPG file and burned it. How did you burn it?
You can't just burn the plain MPG file onto a CD and play it. You have to create the proper VCD dirs and convert the MPEG to a DAT file. Nero has a template to do this. OR you can use VCDImager to create an image of the MPEG, and then burn that?
