To convert a dvd I use smartripper to rip the vobs and then I use vob2avi to rip the sound and use the d2v file and sound file from that and convert to what I want with TMPGEnc.
I am wondring how can I creat a subtitle d2v file to convert in TMPGEnc. I would rather use a d2v file cuz I know that is a good quality input file, but is there is an easier or better way to attach the subtitles to a file to be converted in TMPGEnc that is good to. Thanks for any help.

Did you look to the left under "DVD Rips" there are guides for making x(S/C)VCDs and DVDs with subtitles.
Most people rip the subs from the DVD, then load the d2v video and subtitles in Virtual dub, and frameserve from VDub to TMPGenc:

this guide as WAY MORE info then you need, but it's all good stuffTake a look at some of the other ones in the DVD Rip section here and at doom9.org

I just found this thread by searching for help on making subbed VCDs from DVDs using TMPGEnc, after looking thru the guides, so sending us back to them isn't much help...
