SVCD "Time Search" with Nero?

Ok so I can't really make a good subject for my question. Here goes:

I have a MPEG2 file I want to make into an SVCD. I'm trying to make an image with VCDEasy because I want the interactivity and the change disc mpeg still, etc. Unfortunately VCDEasy chokes on this file for some odd reason and truncates the image down to about 170MB (~770 mpeg file).

When I burn the mpeg file with Nero, it does not come up with any compliance errors. However when I do burn with it, I can no longer use the "Time Search" function on my DVD player (ie I want to go to minute 15:00 so I hit time search, 1-5-0-0 and it fails). Images made with VCDEasy to not have this problem.

I am using Nero 5.5.10.20. Also tried NTI's CD Maker and it exhibits the same behavior as Nero.
