Hi all!
First thnx for reading through this!
I(newbie)'m using the avisynth method when converting (4:3!!) dvds to DivX.
I ripp with Smartripper, make a .d2v, use gordianknot to resize (soft bicubic) and finally VDub..
I'm not using ANY filters in VDub since it looks very nice.
The only things I recognized were that from time to time there appear little macroblocks..And the scenes don't look really perfect when showing a greater distance..
This even happens when using bitrates at 1900kbit/s!!!
I'm using DivX4.01 @1850kbit/s, 512x384 and one pass slowest.
So could anyone recommend one or more filters which could improve quality? I tried 2D_Cleaner but this removes so much details.. or am I wrong?
Or is my resolution too low?I just recognized that macroblocks appear more often when going to higher resolutions.. that's why I stuck at 512x384.
Thank you a lot for any tipps from you insiders
