  1. i like the burner, it seems to burn all 1x media at 2x speeds for some reason, DVDInfo says all my loaded media speed is 2.0x

nero loads it up and lets me burn at 2.0x

thing is though, in DVDInfo, if you click on the drive information itself

    it shows

    HL-DT -STDVDRAM GMA-4020B

    but then it shows

    PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105
    Firmware Revision A107

is the LG a rebadged oem pioneer 105 with support for dvd-ram and some speed adjustments?

so that would mean the pioneer 105/A05 would be able to burn dvd-ram later on with firmware updates?

can anyone clarify with DVDInfo on thier LG burner if thiers show a PIONEER 105 as well?

other than the info i need above, this is a great burner for the price

    No, it's based on Hitachi-LG's own GMA-4020B.

but how come it shows the drive as Pioneer DVR-105 in DVDInfo?

  4. It's a bug in DVDInfo 0.61 that for some reason show some drives as the Pioneer DVR-105 (see here. Get version 0.55 or wait for a bug fix.
