  1. I found an odd problem last night. I had to reinstall my OS etc on a new disc arrangement last week. Anyway, I have noticed that now whenever I try to use MC's MPEG Encoder, it will work great for the first use. After the first use, I just keep getting an error whenever I try to use it. I was playing around with it and muxing an m2v and a wav whenever this occurred. If I uninstall and reinstall, it works great the first time and fails every subsequent time. Has anyone else had this problem. Maybe this prog doesn't like to mux m2v's and stereo wav's into a DVD compliant MPEG stream? I don't know, but it is a pain in the arse to uninstall and reinstall every time I want to use it. Thanks!

My problem was not quite the same. It would quit after a few minutes. If you have directx 9.0, that could be the problem on many machines.

    Hello,

we do have problems with directX 9. We are working on a solution. The
next version of the encoder should work with DX9.

  3. Actually, I did have the same problem as you once before on a different OS install. As a matter of fact, you told me about the DX9.0 issue. I didn't have this issue with previous OS installations and DX9.0. I thought maybe something else was at fault, but I guess that I will just have to wait for the new version. Oh well!

  4. Regarding my error problem, found this on MC's support forums. Hopefully, this helps tonight after work:

This is a crash in the DirectShow import and currently we try to find out the reason. At startup by default the application loads the last project and this fails. To avoid this, you can disable this in the options menu. Deleting the mcmpgenc.mes will help instead of uninstall/reinstall if the crash occurs.
