  1. I use dvd dycrupter to copy my single layer movies and dvd2one for dual layer movies.
I perform a crc check ont he original dvd movie which is flawless, after movie is copied I crc check it too and it got 0 errors, but when I play back the movie on my puter on standalone dvd player, the movie will pause and sometimes just freeze.

    what causes this?

I notice that if I copy from an original dvd movie there are less chances of this happening if I copy from a copy.

    anyone else seeing this?
btw- I tried using nero, record now max v4.12 and 4.5, dvd decrypter and each reported 0 errors on copy process, but yet the movie will freeze.???

  3. oops forgot to mention that, i have tried with smartripper also, same issue.
I have over 600 movies here and so I've taken the time to do several movies with several diff apps, but for the most part despite 0 errors from app and crc using several apps to ripa nd burn, the movie still pauses.
I have tried playing movies on different brands of dvd players and same issue. i can't seem to find the cause of the pause or freeze.

  4. Well it seems to me (and I'm no expert) that if you take a DVD5 original rip it to a VIDEO_TS folder then just burn that folder and it doesn't work then either the burner or media is borked. What happens if you just rip and then play back those files with PowerDVD or WinDVD, do they play back normal?

  5. Ninja,

I have the same/similar problem. What standalone dvd do you have. I have 3 stb unit, 2 of which exhibit this problem. They are Pioneer units. It seems dvd2one is doing something that the pioneer players are very sensitive to. I also have a littl awaia throw-away, and it plays all disks flawlessly.

I have partially fixed the problem by using dvdshrink. Unfortunately dvd2one would still be my software of choice. I'm still testing, and I think it maybe system related...almost like something goofy in my registry that makes dvd2one unreliable.
