  1. I bought a Pioneer DV-250, and have it set up through a RF Modulator Adaptor to a 13 inch Daewoo Television. I have noticed slight white vertical lines whenever I play a DVD, especially on widescreen DVD's. I exchanged the dvd player for another one and have had the same problem. I have also used a different RF Modulator adaptor and experienced the same picture problems. Ironicly, I hooked up the player to my mothers stereo TV and noticed no picture problems. I have called Pioneer tech support and they stated that the player should work with a modulator adaptor with out picture distortions. Am I going to have to buy a Stereo Tv or a tv with a/v imputs in order to get a clear picture with this player?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me, I am new to this forum and want to keep the player because it plays many different formats.

Well, you shouldn't have to, but it's not unusual for some DVD players out there to present this flaw. If you want an advantage over a VCR (picture quality wise), you won't really see it until you atleast have A/V hook-ups. I would highly recommend getting atleast a TV with a S-Video input though b/c this is really when a DVD player starts to shine and even more with a component video input (but this isn't cheap). I got a Sharp 32' that I paid $549 for back in 1998 and you can get pretty much the same TV now for $329. Sharp TVs are really good for the price and their quality is just the same as the bigger name brands. They also last a lonnnng time.
