  1. Hi All,
First of all this is my first visit in the forum and don't be angry if my problem has been already posted. As far as I have searched different groups and posts I couldn't find a solution for my problem. I have found a few posts about audio sync problem but those were still different than mine.
    Here it comes:
I capture a video from a miniDV camera into my PC with Media Studio Pro 7 directly to MPEG file. So far so good. Then I edit it in the same prog, rework it and save as mpeg DVD-PAL file. At this point begins my problem. When playing this saved file I have an audio delay about a half a second which is very irritating for me.
Sometimes my saved file is ok (no delay at that moment) but after converting it with Movie Factory2 to the VOB files I find the same problem, audio sync problem of about a half a second.
Please help me with it because I think I have already tried everything and I still don't know what am I doing wrong (I assume it's me)
thanx in advance for ANY suggestion
    regards
    Andy

This might sound like an over simplification, but try different editing software. If the initial transfer to mpeg is "So far so good", then your good. Just experiment with different software until you find what works. If there's one thing I've learned around here is that not everything works for everybody, you have to find what suits you. Hope that helps in some way.

    Is your original source Pal?
If you play your .MPG in a software player like WinDVD, do you get synch??
Are you having synch, or stretch problems, there is a difference. The difference being that synch is usually fixed with audio delay at the beginning, but stretch is a separate fix altogether.
Do you have the option to capture to .AVI? It's much better for editing. Finally, in the end, make the tape to .MPG..
Editing in .MPG format is something that isn't usually recommended, unless it's necessary.

    One step at a time.......

To echo the entiments of pijetro I think this might well be your problem.
Editing mpeg's is not wise, I suggest you capture as an avi, edit then output as a finished mpeg with the encoder of your choice (mine is TMPGEnc).
A different scenario but I had major sync problems using Pinnacle Studio 8.5 for capture.
Granted it was analogue (DV is superb) but I solved it by using a different capture program and importing that capture avi into Pinnacle (in your case Ulead, yes?).
