I have been searching all over for some help with this, and found a couple of posts on various sites, but nothing that anyone else is asking about is quite like what I am experiencing. I am trying to create a personal movie databank by encoding all my DVD's to Nero Digital AVC and keep them on my harddrive which is wired to my TV so I can pull up any movie whenever without messing around with putting in a DVD.
I am ripping using DVDFab Platinum, and then with the latest version of Recode 2 on Nero 7, version 7.9.6.0, encoding the movie files. After encoding is done, I check the .mp4 file using Showtime. On a select few movies of mine, namely Batman Begins, Robocop 2, and Ghostbusters, I have noticed that sometime during playback on Showtime, the audio starts to not quite sync with the actors lips. The audio is coming about 0.5 seconds in front of the video (it could be less, but no more than that - it just looks off and something is not right about it).
When I play the .vobs directly is Showtime, everything is ok, but the encoded stuff is incorrect. Most other posts talk of multiple second delays or out of sync problems, nothing like my very small error. I can watch the movies encoded, but sometime during the playback (middle or after) this audio problem develops, and it just doesn't look right-like a bad dubbing. Please help me fix this.
Thanks,
