  1. Hello,
I've encoutered a problem recently, I have a DIVX file with 30.35fps and wanted to convert it so I could burn it as VCD. Although I tried it several times, I always get an audio-video sync problem, meaning the sound is slower than the video. Although I extracted the audio as .wav using virtualdub first, the problem still exist.
I guess it hast sth to do with the wrong frame rate? Im using TMPENc with the VCD/NTSC template.

Anybody knows how to do this properly? Thx a lot!

Odd frame rate that...I'd suggest converting to NTSC (29.97fps)

Open movie in virtualdub...under audio tab select "full processing mode", click conversion and change to 44100...then save the WAV.

Open movie again in virtualdub...select "no audio", direct stream copy for the video, then click change frame rate under the video tab and change to 29.97...then save the avi.

You now need to convert the audio to match the new video frame rate....use Goldwave for this (more accurate than the other programs).

Load the WAV into Goldwave...it will show you the exact length of the WAV to the nearest 1000th second. Calculate this length in seconds only then multiply it by 1.012679...(the ratio of 29.97 to 30.35)...then calculate the new time back into hours/mins/seconds and use the time warp feature in Goldwave to stretch the audio to this new time....then when its done (takes a few minutes)...save the new WAV.

Now just use the new audio and video sources in TMPGenc using the NTSC template.
