Looking for info on this subject since the search is to broad to find what I am looking for.
I have had more trouble with xvids then I care to think of, found some tricks for some movies but others I just could not get to work for nothing audio always out of sync, so im reading through post and a great person by the name of El Torro put a reply up to a guy having xvid problems also telling him how to set his vfapi settings for xvids. So I set mine to the exact way he suggested and low and behold the movie I have been having nothing but failure converting converts beautiful and all is well (Thanks El Torro)
Now for my question which is I'm sure now that I have them setting set that way I will have problems with other movie file types, so im wondering is there a guide or template area that has a list of settings for the vfapi per movie type or somewhere I could use as a reference point when using different type movies, I really have no understanding of the vfapi section in tmpge but I know that by just rearranging them setting to follow what El said made my movie work and so this must be a good section to learn about, I've looked on the tmpge website but nothing of real use there and searching the forums I get bits and pieces but no real data to use or make understanding the vfapi section any better. So looking for some guides or good info on vfapi settings in tmpge.
Thanks in advance

Why not just leave the vfapi settings at their defaults and use the FourCC changer trick?... I have encoded dozens of Xvids with the enviromental settings at their default setting with NO problems...all I do is change the FourCC from Xvid to DivX...it works!...I've explained how to do it in this other post:

ive used the four cc changer trick and for some xvid files I have had it did indeed work but for a couple that I have nothing has worked taking out bad frames if there was some, four cc changer trick, rekeying in vdub just so many things ive tried from this website but for some reason changing those vfapi settings let me finally get one of the movies right and I will be trying to others that I could never get with all those other tricks, maybe its just something to do with these paticular files Im not sure but nevertheless chaning those setting worked.
