Rant #1: Why do they even bother putting PCM audio on DVDs?

Rant #2: Why in the world would they put anything other than AC3 6-channel audio as the default audio?

Now, my question. I want to use DVD Shrink to take individual selections off of my music DVDs and burn them. When I do this I eliminate any audio tracks other than AC3 in order to save space and because I don't want to play those audio tracks anyway. Unfortunately, when I play back the new DVD I have to change the audio to Audio 2 even though I only have the one audio track on the DVD, if the AC3 was originally anything other than Audio 1 on the original DVD. Is there a way I can have the player believe that the audio was originally Audio 1? I assume it would be with IfoEdit or VobEdit but I don't know how to go about it. I would sure appreciate any help you can give me with this. Thanks.

PCM audio is used mainly on music and concert DVD's,the uncommpressed sound is better for music thana compressed format like ac3.

Smartripper has the ability to re-rip from files on your HD. If you load the music video you want to change the stream number on,it can change the stream I.D. Switch to "stream" rip, select and highlight the audio stream you want to change the I.D. of,goto the remap box and change to stream 0x80. 0x80 is stream #1 and once changed will auto play on your DVD player.
DVD95COPY upto version 1.4 does re-write th ifo file to accurately reflect the stream you used as long as you select only one stream.

    Thanks, Wulf

It's working well. Need a little practice, but I think this should solve the problem. I appreciate the input.

One more question, if anyone can answer it, do I use the same number (0x80) for DTS? Thanks!!

    If I have:
    0x80 English
    0x81 Spanish
Here the default is English. Is there a way to set 0x81 as a default, so when I start the DVD it will play Spanish automatically (without having to set Spanish as the default language on my player)?
