  1. Whenever I record to a DVD+RW on my Philips 985A,I can only reuse that DVD on the 985A! While I can select "ERASE" and re-record to my heart's content on the 985A, if I attempt to re-record over, erase, format, or otherwise reuse the DVD+RW on my PC (HP300i PC burner), I get various errors depending upon the program I am using on my PC. Errors range from "SCSI Error" on Nero, to "Read Only" in Windows Explorer (which will NOT allow me to change the Archive bit to writeable) to "Locked" under DVD Decrypter! Evidently, the 985 is somehow proprietarily locking or write protecting DVD+RWs written on it, but somehow allowing only the 985 to circumvent this protection and rewrite a DVD+RW while preventing a PC burner from re-writing to it!! I thought that this might have something to do with the +VR capabilities of the 985A, but even when I tried to write to it by changing a menu in DVD Movie Factory 2 and attempting a +VR rewrite, it would NOT write to the +RW. Again, when I put it back into the 985A, it showed just an empty Title with 1:03 available for recording (at HQ speed). So, what gives?? Anyone else experience this, or otherwise have any ideas on how to use these DVD+RWs on my PC burner once they have been written to on the 985A? This is a REAL stumper!!
