  1. Win XP now has the ability to write a CD. One consequence of this is that some 3rd party packages are no longer supported as they 'clash'. One of these is EasyCD Creator V4. Wondered if anyone knew if Nero V5.5 installed/worked OK on XP? Or any other packages?

  3. Latest version of Nero works fine, DiscJuggler works fine, CDRWIN works fine. Clone CD installs OK, but I haven't used it yet.

I can confirm Nero, CDRWIN, DiscJuggler, CloneCD can all work. I burnt CDs with all these programs just fine on Windows XP Professional (Final Build 2600).

  5. WinOnCD 3.8 PE doesn't work in Windows XP. The Roxio drivers conflict with the native XP drivers.

Has anyone smarter than me gotten WinOnCD to install correctly in XP?

raceman3, the answer will never change.
If you use NTFS, then you have no filesize limits. XP can use the inferior FAT32 or it can use NTFS... Look at XP as Windows 2002, because that's all it is. And if you guys want to upgrade, I suggest you get Professional.

As for the original post, Nero 5.5.2.4 works fine for me in Windows XP build 2600. Nero is all I ever use, so that's the only one I can confirm, but these other people have confirmed other burning apps that work.

  8. I got all my cd-r burning software working fine under xp including easy cd 4.0 and winoncd 3.8...hell, even videopack 4.0 works still. The only 'issue' I have is when I start up I get this little error about a conflict with 'CD-R Drivers' or something...but it doesnt seem to actually affect anything and all the software works. (And I'm using Winxp PRO 2600 BTW)

  9. CD Burning problem whit WinXP (ASPI LAYER)
WinXP does not come with an aspi layer. So far almost 90% of the problems with winXP and CD burning software are
aspi layer problems. After installing winXP, before installing any CD burning software do a few things first:
    1. Open up "My computer" and right click on the CD Recorder. If your CD recorder was detected as a CD recorder there
will be a tab called "Recording". On this tab uncheck ALL of the boxes. apply or OK out of it and close my computer.
    2. Next install the standard aspi layer for NT. Reboot when asked.
