  1. Anyone know how to convert a DVstream (captured from a Sony digital camera) to divx? vcdhelp.com suggests VirtualDub, but when I load the clip it reports: "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown) VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

  2. try downloading and installing a dv codec. i have one (cant remember the name tho) which is technically shareware, but it allows you to read dv into vdub. the only caveat that avi's saved with it are watermarked, but i always frameserve straight in to tmpgenc, so its not a problem just search google for 'dv codec' and you should get what you r looking 4
