I have 2 mpeg2 (SVCD) files, which has all the same properties (frame rate, codec etc.)

These 2 files plays flawlessly on every mpeg2 player.

I tried to join these files into one file (mpeg2).

I have tried to use many software titles - TMPGenc, Easy Video Joiner and more. No matter what I did, I always have severe problem to work with the resulting file; It starts OK, but if I want to fast forward the movie, any software I use to play it always stucks.
I try to cut the resulting file, the result is bad.
Even in Windows media Player, the total time of the file, showing wrong information.
What can cause all these results?

    Any help will be appreciated.

  2. I had a similar problem with joining 2 mpegs. I used TMPGenc to join the to mpegs, and they were joined successfully. I then proceeded to author the dvd with DVDit. When attempting to create chapter points in the joined movie I would then get an error in DVDit "this file is not compatible with DVDit".

My workaround was to add the 2 movies to the dvd and add seperate chapter points in each movie.

Not the best solution, but I tried everything and could not get the joined file to work correctly.

    2 things of interest

    1. When joing MPEG2 files using TMPEGnc always make sure that you choose the MEPG-2 Super VideoCD(VBR) from the drop down list.

    2. Try using M2Editpro or MyFlix XE as an alternative to to TMPEGnc, these are both excellent MPEG2 joining programmes with the only drawback that there both shareware so you are limted in what you can do.
