oh man,,,, Iīm going crazy. Now when I thought I did a good job it was almost shit. Sure it worked on one of my stand alone players... but not the second one. out of The Bourne Identity, Scorpion King and The One (jet Li) only The One works on my other standalone player wich is a top notch Harman Kardon DVD 1 (or HK for short). myother player which works very well is a Pioneer DVL-909.
'with the The One I first made it in IC7 and due to the filesize probs with that movie I did later it again in dvd2one 1.1.1
'With Scorpion King I did it with DVDshrink 1.03
'Bourne Identity only IC7
All of them used the same media but do you think it can really be the program?.... I did remove the warning texts on all of the movies and other menu languages without The One since it was only in english.
hmmm, Now I burnt Bourne on a +RW and the title logo wouldnīt play, but if I press the menu on the remote then itīs working. GOiNg cRaZy and it was made in dvd2one 1.1.2... and did again in DVDshrink original with no modification on the meny. And it wonīt play on the HK player still
The Error I get is that it complains about the data being corrupted after it tries to read the disc... weird sound
worth to mention also I guess.... I burnt another movie Accidental Spy a long time ago with the same media, and since it was a dvd 5 already I just copied and burnt, after decryption of course.. works very fine
this was difficult, hop you all understood

What media are you using?
Players can be an issue.......on T2 one of the opending sequences before the movie starts works perfectly on DVD Rom and my 3 year old Pioneer but gets pixulated on a new Pioneer player??
First thing I would suggest is media because the programs have worked for countless people. -
Hi, in my own experience, it doesn't matter if you have an expensive player or a cheap player but if the standalone player won't play a dvd -r or +r ..you can try all the media out there it just won't play it. I have a dvd player that I bought on sale for 30 dollars and it plays all the burned dvd-r that I put in it but the other player that I have that is more expensive it is picky with the type of media. My suggestion is check your set top player first as to what kind format of media will it take ( -r or + r ), some players won't play +r. Then use a good media along with a burning software that you know works for you...in my case I wasn't happy with nero, the burned disc did play but it has pixelation and skipping.. so I tried recodrnow max and gear pro dvd and they are bought good never have problems with the burned disc... with respect to the software to convert the movie from dvd9 to dvd5 I don't think you'll have much trouble with that..
just my .02 cents and hopes it helps -
thanks for your replies...
the media I have tried with are Bulk DVD-R I bought last summer, it costed like 1.5 euro.. almost like 1,7 dollars... It shall have good compability and was made for console games and movies.
The other media is a Philips DVD+RW which came with my burner, this one I burn on my PC using Nero and the Bulk I burn it in a Macintosh with the latest Roxio Platinum.
They seem to be the exact same when I play it on the standalone players. I just donīt get it why The One works..... -
You know its not the media because The One is working. My opinion it's the process involved. You used 3 different scenarios and only one worked, the one which you used dvd2one.
I re-author all movies that I backup because in my experience it produces the most compatible DVDs. With my process if the first one works, then the rest will work also. The only things that are changed from movie to movie are the .m2v & .ac3 files. Otherwise the steps involved are always the same. If the movie needs to be re-encoded then I use CCE. I then use DVDMaestro to author and Record Now Max to burn.
Since you have these disks burned already. Take one that doesn't work and demux the .m2v & .ac3 files from it. Then use an authoring program, preferably DVDMaestro to re-author and then burn it back. See if that fixes the problem which I think will since you already know that your player is compatible with the media you are using. The only thing left is the way your DVD player is reading and interpreting the data on the disk. Other than that, it could also be 2 bad disks.
Good Luck.

thanks for your reply.. and so fast even.
well ok, I will try the CCE, heard it is pretty advanced so Iīll have to find a guide.
but those 2 other disks arenīt totally wasted since they do work on the Pioneer and also on the computer of course. Must be the HK player wich is extra picky... alltho it wonīt play burnt audio CDs at all.
...
'I am doing The One again in IC7 only and well see how it works there, just removed some audio and subs
by the way... does maestro handle DTS sound? cus that is what I have on those 2 other discs -

for the sake of another disc, you could copy the files back to your HD, mod the IFO to start with main menu straight away
like I mentioned elsewhere it's the IFO that's your problem cos it's trying to play somits that ain't valid previous to the menu and yours is a typical example of this
but if your menu command works when you press it then just mod the first play to start with either the movie or main menu
problem solved, so why fuss with owt else
see 2COOL guides on Doom9 to sort it 8)
it's so easy to upset the DVD structure and this is the main cause of playback problems with fussy players
My Sony is a fusspot, yet 2 others I have ain't, so be careful if you have a fussy player -
ok thanks for your reply mackem...
lol but still that menu thingie I think I can handle now..... my main issue is that why can I play The One.. the movie on my HK with the same media as the others but those others I canīt play at all.
I made The One with IC7 only and it does work so the software isnīt the cause for sure
alltho The One and Scorpion King are newer movies.... can that be the cause perhaps?..
