  1. Hey all,
I hvae some nu-bie questions that ive done some research on, but cant find specific answers for.

Ive got about 40 asf files that i want to convert eventually into a vcd.
But my recent vcds have been going out of sync on my dvd player.
COuld this be to do with the fact i have things running in the background when I encode? Ive been using neros encoder (which the reasearch now suggests I dont do) and tmpg.

Dont really know where i should go from here beacuse there are so many different encoders, codecs and things that im getting confused what would produce the best results.

Im gonna use nero to burn and continue to use tmpg to encode, but is there a specific version I should use or another method that has yet to be presented to me.

Sorry that I have rambled on.

    Cheers
    Mike

Frameserve the asf with VIrtualDub into TMPG.

I'd also strip the audio out prior and convert it to wav as your audio source. Look for the guide on converting a DivX'd avi w/ mp3 audio to a wav.

However, remember asf -> crap in = crap out.

Asf is ususally bad quality to begin with, so it can only worsen.....

  3. ok, cheers dude. I shall have a look.

Why do you suggest stripping the audio out first? If its worth it I shall have a look into it, its just that ive got about 40 files to do!

    thanks again
