  1. Hey, I've decided to return my ATI AIW card but am getting an error when trying to install my Nvidia TNT card. I'm getting an error when it reads the .ini file from both the driver cab with WinME and with the original cd that came with that video card. My thought was that ATI somehow screwed up the installation process.

Any ideas. I really appreciate the help.

    outbackpaul,

Anytime you change a video card, any card, you should make sure that you remove all software, drivers and devices before you shutdown to install the new device. In this case, uninstall all ATI software (search the registry for any leftover ATI stuff), remove the device as your display card and pick a generic (S)VGA adapter and driver, then make sure you don't see the device in the system properties in control panel. If you do, be sure to remove it as well.

Once windows comes up with the new adapter and installs it should install at least some basic drivers for it. Afterwards check your Nvidia site for the latest stuff or just use what you got for drivers with the card.

This worked wonderfully when I swapped out my Nvidia TNT card for my AIW Radeon 32DDR. :^P

  3. Ahhh, didn't think of the registry and making sure that was clean!! Will try that. I did the uninstall and then did a search for ati files and deleted all of those.

    Thanks
