  1. Hi

I'm looking for a DVD-RW burner. The price is the first thing i'm looking, then I want something that won't stop working 1 week after warrenty (ahh remember me old HP 2X CD-RW)

the LG 4020B is the cheapest drive I have found in Canada. It's 293$Can (199$US) with everything, it's 374$ with 20 Princo DVD-R, taxes and shipping.

I wondering how is this drive ? and how is it working with cheap media ? (of curse, I wont pay 8$ each DVD-r)

My friend have a Pioneer A05 and he is using Princo 1X (less than 2$Can by DVDr) I would like to have the same result, but with less money

Hope I can find some help here. if you have any sugestion on store or DVD-RW, it would apreciate

  3. I Have a LG 4020B I consider it a great drive.. Although the specs say it’s a 1X burner Mine burns every DVD-R that I have used at 2X and DVD-RAM at 2X although the specs don’t mention DVD-RW it also burns DVD-RW disks at 1X.
I also have a brand New Pioneer A05 unfortunately the Pioneer A05 only burns at 1X on disks that the LG 4020B burns at 2X So your only Choice with the A05 is expensive 4X disks or update the drive with hacked Firmware ??? I would fully recommend the LG 4020B it’s a well built drive I have burned well over 100 disks with it and have never produced a coster !!! if you could get a new one for $199.00 U.S. I would grab it..

I have only burned 1 Princo disk. It was a free sample so I used it. I prefer Ritek Disks the Princo worked fine but it just felt and looked cheap.

Since Ritek G03's are starting to climb in price I am sticking with 4X Ritek disks. Most online retailers sell them at 1.99 with free shipping in 25 disk sets. If you buy the Ritek G03's in 25 disk sets the end cost after shipping is about $1.59 U.S

So spending .40 cents more for a 4X disk was a no brainier

Any how good luck with the LG
