    I have neoDVD, ShowBiz, Windows Movie Maker, and MyDVD. Does anyone have any opinions on which of these four does the best transcoding from AVI to mpeg-2/DVD?

    None of them, all pretty poor. Get TmpGenc or CCE basic for just a few dollars. Both excellent value for money.

    Echo the above. TMPGEnc and CCE (and sometimes MainConcept) are the only ways to encode. The other programs do it quick-and-dirty... and guess what happens to your quality...
