Most dvd players ONLY play one region(sometimes can you choose different region code in the dvd settings but it will be locked after for example 5 changes).
But you can hack the player, you can search for a hack that you can apply with the dvd remote controll...or if that isn't possible you can check with the store you bought it from if they can make it region code free(many stores provide such today). Or buy a new already region code free dvd player. -
If you are in the UK then it will most prob be a region 2 player. But you say it says Region 1 on the back ?!?.......Did you know this when you bought it ?. Was it sold as a 'Multi-region' player ?. If so Id take it back to the shop !
I had a quick browse on the web for a 'hack' to enable multi-region but couldnt find one (but u may like to go look), a lot of the big names Sony, panasonic you cant hack the players..thats usually the domain of the cheaper players.
So maybe you are stuck with just a region 2 player, maybe you should of done a bit more research b4 you bought it.
There are companies that will maybe make your player multi-region..its often about £50 or something , this will prob invalidate your warrenty though, go look through a DVD or Home cinema mag n youll get a few addresses.
Or it maybe cheaper just to go buy a cheapo Multi-region one from Asda or Richer Sounds or something..You can get em for about £60 now. -
In my experience there are not many hacks for panasonic. I bought my first player five years ago the A-160 and got it chipped at
www.techtronics.com.
Five day turnaround. They come and pick it up and deliver it back. -
thats who i was gonna mention. Im not a great fan of expensive DVD players that arnt mult-region. I got a panny DMRe30 ..but its a DVD recorderr, for mult-region i just use my Gool old Afreey

this player only cost me £5-00 english pounds so i aint really cost me much just a bit miffed its an american player that wont play region 1 the other thing i can think of is that its been modded to play region 2 so o well looks like buyin a mustek or summat like that for £50-00 quid tkz for ur help guys

Cant complain for a fiver though !
A bit odd if it actually says Region 1 on it. Is that the little world logo with a 1 in it ?. Both of mine have a 2 logo as Id expect. But now my Afreey has been made multi-region by using the remote hack.
