  1. It's easy to do this with the original DVD as you can use DVD Decrypter or other rippers, but all I have is the .vob files and the .ifo file for that VTS set on my HD. Is there a program I can use to rip out the DTS stream from the files on my HD so I can import it into Maestro?

Thanks in advance if anyone knows what I can use to do this...

This was already addressed a few posts ago. You can't get to the DTS audio stream to demux it from the video into 6 discrete channels. No program out there to do that.

Are you saying not at all or just not from the files on the HD? If you are saying not at all then you must be mistaken as I have done this before with DVD Decrypter and use'd the ripped .dts file in Maestro and authored the DVD fine.

Basically, with DVD decryptor you are demuxing the encoded DTS files from the VOB, then putting it back into Meastro and authoring the dvd all over again. That seems like the same thing as just doing a straight up copy of the DVD with one of the progs mentioned on vcdhelp. Not sure what it accomplishes to remove the stream then put it back onto dvd. What you cannot do from the HD or wherever is pull the DTS encoded files (6 discrete audio channels) apart.

Ok well let me explain the whole scenario and then you will understand why I want to do this.. The movie I'm doing is Saving Private Ryan which is well over 7gb so using dvd2one or similar product doesn't yield good results.. So I use CCE to reencode the video which produces way better results.. There are 2 audio streams in this movie.. 2ch AC3 and 6ch DTS... If the AC3 was 6 channel I probably wouldn't worry about the DTS stream but it's only 2ch so I prefer to have the DTS also with it.. I use DVD2SVCD for it simplicity to do my CCE encoded movies.. However it won't rip the DTS stream only the AC3 stream.. So I when this has happened in the past I have just use the original DVD to with DVD decrypter and rip out the DTS stream with that and load the AC3 and the newly ripped DTS stream as well as the m2v into maestro and author a new dvd.. However since I don't have the original DVD on me at this time I can't do it this way... Now I think you should understand what I'm getting at and why I want to do this...
