dvd to divx. one shot download forty-two (homepage.mac.com/kaicherry)

run the app, drag your dvd onto it, select divx, and push start. Depending on your speed of your machine it can take anywhere from an hour to longer.

other options are, used OSeX (versiontracker.com) to extract your dvd to it elementary stream (.vob)
Open this .vob in ffmpegx (versiontracker.com) after selecting your presets of DVD to DIVX option.
push encode, wait and see what the results look like

i suggest trying forty-two first. its relatively easy. If it works and you like it, make sure to donate a couple of bucks to the creator, Kai Cherry.

The program is a multipurpose tool - for quick dvd to divx, vcd, svcd and even dvd with a single click.

best of luck for you. if you want a dvd to divx on 2 cd's choose the one thats divx near dvd i think thats a 2 cd divx (1.4 gigs)

thanks for help....used forty-two and now i have a 1.35Gb avi file.... how do i split into 2 parts so they will fit to CD?
