I'm from the States and living in the UK. My PC, DVD player and VHS player were brought over and work with the PC. It has an ATI card in it to play VHS tapes, DVD disks, VCD disks, and my own home made SVCD disks. The problem is with the professionally made DVDs and VHS tapes. THey flash brighter and normal during playback. It continues thoughout the entire DVD or VHS tape.
It only happens with commercially made DVDs and VHS tapes.
I have a very good power transformer and it did not change anything about the flashing.
THe US has 60Hrz and the UK has 50Hrz. Could that be it? If so, then why oh why do VCD disks play back without any flashing brighter and normal? And why do my own VHS tape copies play normally? My own SVCD productions also play normally without any brightness changings.
What is going on and can I fix it somehow, without buying a PAL TV and players that is?
Thanks.
