  1. I have been working with freeware and I want to purchase one of the copying softwares (DVD X Copy, DVD2DVDOne..) Will this simplify the process and allow me to keep extras? And which one is the best of them...I don't want anything to complicated...any help will be appreciated...

  2. Does this program allow me to keep all the extras and menus from a DVD-9 and put it on a DVD-5? And another question is can DVD X Copy put movies on 1 dvd and just not 2??? Judging by the DVD95Copy screenshots, it looks pretty simple, is it?

Yes you can keep all the extras and menu. DVD95 is similar to Instant Copy only it's much faster and perhaps easer to use. Also I should note that the new version of DVD2one (version 1.11) will also do a full disc copy as well as movie only and it's really fast like 20 minutes or less. Thing is I think the image quality of DVD95 is somewhat better than DVD2one so lately I have been using DVD95 over DVD2one.

DVDX Copy will require two disc if the original is a DVD9 in most cases and a single disc if the original is a DVD5 or single layer DVD. Thing is if the original is a DVD5 single layer DVD you really don't need DVDX Copy to backup the movie, just rip it and burn with RecordNow or nero.

  6. I like dvd2one also on small tv's (27 in and smaller) you never notice a difference if your just stripping the movie and leave one audio track. What your doing though keeping the extra's and other stuff your going to lose a lot of quality either way you look at it using dvd95 or dvd2one so i would suggest maybe making your own menu so its much smaller then the original dvd's menu and have it link to all the extra's and downsize the extra's also (how great quality do you need them anyhow?) and also get rid of language tracks i just did the 8 mile dvd and their was 5 audio tracks (maybe six) 3 of them were english 2 forign 0 were commentary so so you really need all those extra audio tracks? yes having a 1:1 copy is nice but you also got to think of quality in that equation of coolness

I think Instant Copy handles the above easier than DVD2One or DVD95Copy, doesn't it? I believe DVD2One only lets you keep all the menus and extra features without giving you freedom to choose (when in full DVD mode).
So I use DVD2One when I just rip out movies only and IC for a full disk with only appropriate sound tracks, captions and stuff.
I must admit I've never had any experience with DVD95Copy though I've heard a lot about it.

  9. Instant Copy = Slow as hell but does a nice job.
DVD2one = Latest version will do 1:1 copies as well as movie only and is very fast.
DVD95 Copy = Faster than Instant copy and does a fine job.
DVDX Copy = Keeps original quality but sometimes requires two discs and it's way over priced.
DVDshrink = The best of them all is lighting fast and the best part it's FREE.

using an InstantCopy/DVD95Copy hybrid still beats anything out there by a mile for ease of use/effort involved/quality produced

If anyone is interested in what I mean by that just PM me

DVDShrink has some nice features but it's not as good as people make out. It can't exactly fill 4.37Gb and quality is questionable using level 3 & especially level 4 but it's early days yet and it will no doubt improve and obviously as it's free you cannot complain at all
