Here is kind of silly question, so please don't flame me. My wanting to ask this is because I want to know what I should do? I am now cap-ing at 352X480. But my capture card does allow 720X480. Can someone tell me if I should use the 720x480 instead and why?

That depends on what you want to do with your capture! VCD or CVD? Stay with 352x480.
DVD? Go for the higher rez.

  3. I've done some tests.

    Pan & Scan VHS (B&W) 356X480, 704X480 is a waste. @ 4000+ bit
    Pan & Scan VHS (Color) 356X480, 704X480 is a waste. @ 4000+ bit
Widescreen VHS (Color) 704X480 minor improvment over 356X480. @ 8000 bit
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
