  1. im trying to capture a part of a movie on a dvd, but when i play it through my capture card its flicking all over the place. is this the copy protection? it runs through my VCR fine

    anyway to by-pass it?

  2. Some programs used for capturing the preview capture will not be in real time and tends to look bad however when the capture is done playback looks fine. What program are you using?

    Also if you're in the states and near a BestBuy I could recommend a handy gadget that will improve VHS captures.

  6. Yep, smells like Macrovision. To bypass you would have to decrypt and demacro it with a program like dvd decrypter, then burn it to a dvd, preferrably a rewritable. Seems like a lot of trouble, but if you want it on vhs that bad, that's one way to go...

    BestBuy sells a device called "Video Copy Master" made bu Sima and the model is SED-CM. It goes from the output of the VCR before the capture card and amplifies, filters, and levels the video signal. I also believe it gets rid of any copy protection but the manufacture doesn't mention it in their manual. Anyway I use the device which greatly improves the quality of my captures. It sells for $40.
