I've been successfully using RecordNow as my program of choice for DVD+/-RW burning. I've used it to burn several data discs, home DVD movies and backups of commerical DVDs. When buring DVDs a problem I've encountered recently is that RecordNow Freezes during verification. This happens maybe 50 to 60% of the time now. The discs play fine in may standalone Toshiba SD2800 player. I'm using Accu DVD-R media and a Sony DRU-500a. Since I got a free upgrade for RecordNow DX I thought that maybe that would solve my freezes during verification. Not only did that not solve my freezes the discs I created would now longer play in my standalone player. So I've gone back to RecordNow. Does anyone have any ideal what is causeing RecordNow to freeze during verification and if so, what I can do about it? Also, what's up with RecordNow DX ... why won't the discs burned with the program play in my standalone player? Can I do anything to fix that problem?

Somebody also reported that they had better luck connecting the drive to secondary channel as master.

I've read some posts on this board that people have lost 2x write speeds when upgrading from 1.0f to 2.0e. Is this true? So I'm reluctant to upgrade the firmware.

The Sony drive is connected to my Motherboard as Master on the Secondary IDE channel. If fact, all my IDE drives are connected as master ... I have a PCI controller card that connects my second harddrive and CD-ROM drive.
