wmv to mpg Conversion

The mwv video format is good (good video quality and small size) but there are a number of browsers cannot see mwv files but can only see mpg files. In ordert to post a wmv file onto a web, I converted a mwv file to a mpg file, however, the file size multipled. When converting from wmv to mpg, is there any way to keep the wmv file video quality while keeping the file size relatively the same?

To do that you will need to convert to DivX as MPEG is quality first, compression last

How do you convert a wmv movie?
I have tried to do it for a long time but I can´t still convert it cuz Virtual Dub doesn´t accept it and TMPGenc doesn´t accept it either.
