I've read the manual forwards and backwards(...hehe)on my APEX 1100W and absolutely can NOT figure out how to navigate past the stupid "main menu" in my chaptered DVDs created with MovieFactory and VideoStudio.
I've created 3 minute chapters of my 2 hr. DVDs and Really need to see the Mult-thumbnail Chapter menu(not the stupid one thumbnail main "menu")to start at the chapter points.
(there is an -> arrow button on the bottom of the main "menu" screen, but highlighting it and pressing the ENTER button only starts the DVD playing....does Not take me to the chapter menus, as I need)
Could any APEX user Please tell me how to use the remote to get to the chapter menu screen, Please?

"Signature"......
I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video..... -
Try it in your computer DVD player. There's a spot on UL's Movie Factory that you have to check for it to create the chapter menus, if its not checked the only way to navigate is with the skip button, just keep skipping chapters til you get the one you want.
Try the dvd in your computer player and see if the chapter menus come up, if they dont you have to redo the disk and be sure to check "Add chapter menus"
If it does show on your computer then I'm not sure how you'd get to the menu on the Apex -
Thanks, Raen
I have looked at the images in my DVD file on my computer. It clearly shows many menus of 6 thumbnails each for my chapters that I created. So I know they are there. Yes, I did create them. (my computer player does not operate the same as my APEX player buttons do)
Are you saying pressing a "SKIP" button on the remote will navigate past the main "menu"(one thumbnail only) to get me to the 1st 6 thumbnail Chapter menu?
(do you have an APEX player?)"Signature"......

No, I meant play the movie and use the skip button to go to the next moive
I do have an Apex 1500 but all I have to do to get the menus I create is highlight the lille 'box' of the main movie with the arrow keys and hit enter. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be getting the menu, seems very strange. Wish I could be more help. -
well unfortunately, all that does is start my DVD playing(not taking me to my multi-chapter menu screens, at all).
Do you think if I go into the menu folder that the program creates before I burn it...and just delete that 1st supposed stupid main "menu"....it would make my DVD start with what follows?( my REAL menu...with the chapters)?
Has anybody tried that?
(or have any hints on how to get the 1100W remote to actually GET me to the chapter menu screen?)"Signature"......

It look me forever to figure that stupid remote out. I finally figured out that I was not using the Shift button, which turns on the menu controls. Are you activating Shift?

Yes, Tgpo
unfortunately I have tried the shift button too without luck.
Are you saying SHIFT is part of this mystery? If so, SHIFT and Then what button do I push to get the multi chapter menus to appear, please?"Signature"......
