    Hello all
    I have a dvd-5 with a movie that was converted from DVD-9 to DVD-5

Using 42 to convert to SVCD i get an error saying no ac3 format present for sound - try divx instead. So i did that. No conversion even though it went through about an hour of processing.

I ripped the dvd to m2v and .ac3 (strange, there is an .ac3) and need help getting these files to SVCD.

I am sure Missing MPEG Tools is what I need, but how do i actually Start the process. I open all the files, set all the data, and there is no (encode button)

    am i missing something here??

using the muxed MPEG file, try running it through mencoder in the terminal to convert it to Divx with PCM sound then running that resulting .avi file through Divx Doctor to get a .mov file. Then run the .mov file through ffmpegX in SVCD mode.

If you save your .AC3 file that you have from the beginning, you can demux your final SVCD MPG file, and REMUX it with the .ac3 file you had originally. Thats only if you want AC3 sound.

    Hope this helps.

    This doesnt really help me

Maybe i didnt explain it well enought

    I have 1. m2v and 1. ac3

i need to put the m2v do 2500k/sec inorder for it to be svcd. Right now its DVD (9000k/sec i think)

Missing MPEG Tools will reencode the m2v for my new bitrate but i cant for the life of me find out how to actually "start" the encoding

I have all the files selected and everything is ready, where do i actually push encode??

    There is no button

Is there a better way to do this - without having to go to divx, then to mov then to svcd

i have a valid mpeg2 file that i just need to be smaller bitrate.

Perhaps another program for this conversion.

Muxing the sound into the video is easy, i just need the video to be less quality so its not 4 svcds
