  1. I have a problem when converting divx files to DVD using TMPGEnc.
If the divx movie has 25fps everything is ok and looks good on the dvd, but when the the divx has 23,976 fps the audio is WAY out of sync.
I'm not talking about a hundred of a sec, this is SECONDS. Very annoying.

I do as the following guide:
    https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgencdvd.htm

As I said, 25fps PAL no problem, 23,976fps problems.

    Any suggestions??

  3. I'm new at this. Why do I have to convert a 23,976fps to 23,976fps or did I misunderstand you??
I realize that either the video or the audio are converted wrong. How do I see which is wrong??

Often ....with divx anyway...I have to use virtual dub to save the audio from the divx as a uncompressed wav file....then use that wav as the audio input during the encoding process, keeping the original avi as the video input.

The messed up sync in sound and video is usally from a flaw when TMPG (and some others ) decompress the divx audio then have to recompress to fit your new format....the above step allows the program to skip the uncompression part. And usally works for me....

Be sure that tmpgenc converts to 23,976 fps with pulldown(called ntsc film) and not 29,97 fps. And convert the audio to wav as madmize says.

    Under step2:
Note 3! If your video source is 23,976 fps(or 24 fps) then check so it says Film movie under Content of video, if not then change to Film movie

  6. I use VirtualDub to extract the audio and then use the original avifile and the the new wavfile in TMPGEnc. I'm also sure to select Film movie and NOT video movie. I don't know why I get audiosync problems with 23,976fps.

Is there a way to see which framerate the created m2vfile has??

Do you guys use the Project wizard in TMPGEnc or do you make all configuration manually??

  7. One of the main tasks i have found for this is to delete bad frames. You may have a frame that tmpgenc doesn't like and takes time to encode it whilst the sound keeps going. get rid of bad frames - it works for me
