    I followed the excelent guide
"The newbies guide to fitting a movie on one CD using TMPGEnc"
and it works very well. I am not sure why it is so slow. To rip a 113 minute film, I used Smartripper, DVD2AVI and TMPG using the PAL template and it took 2 X 4 hours or so to produce the 2 MPEG files. I used the "one CD" method and it took more than 27 hours!! I used the slider in TMPG to get the film up to 100% of an 80 minute CDR.

Is this par for the course or am I making a monumental error?

  2. i think you should switch to cinema craft encoder, it is way faster then tmpgenc. and you get awsome quality movies. if you're using andvanced mode in dvd2svcd then you will be able to convert dvd2vcd. Get the cinema craft encoder. It is fast.

Are you using any filters in TMPGEnc? They really slow it down!

There are some guides on this site under the convert section but I think the cinemacraft guides are better at doom9's site here: http:\\www.doom9.org. Don't get me wrong, this site is great, but doom9 also has some good resources so try both.

If you encode using the highest quality mode in settings it can change the timings of Tmpenq from 9 hours upto 27ish depending on the film length etc.
    Yeah Baby!
