    Does virtual dub write a log of where the bad frames where in the movie. this would come in handy for fixing up the sound. if there is such a log where do i find it.

    Yes, it should be in your "C" directory.

    Also, VirtualDub MP3 is the version that creates a log of where the bad frames are at.
