  3. try the ffdshow no go. notice when I instert the film in tmpge to convert there is no audio.
    could this be the problem?

in gspot under audio format it says

    ac3 (0x2000) "Dolby Laboratories, Inc"
    codec is installed

    under directshow render is say
    4cc: XVID video media
video codec is ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder
audio codec is AC3 from AVI XForm --> InterVideo Audio Decoder-->Morgan Stream Switcher

don't know why if all the codec are install it won't open in tmpge and when I try to make a wav files in vdub tell me no audio decompressor can be found>

    thanks

sounds like your missing some codecs. my best advice is to un-install,then re-install all your codecs. if it still dosen't work, then you are missing some codecs. i know its kind of a pain, but as a general rule,if the audio or video is missing=missing codec/s

    p.s. what is your O.S. cause wmp9 won't run right below win98se.

    Hi ppl!

I have a similar annoying problem:

Avi with ac3 sound won´t play in WMP 9. WMP 9 reports an error in AppName: wmplayer.exe, AppVer 9.0.0.2980 and ModName: ac3audio.ax, ModVer: 2.2.0.0, Offset: 0001121d (if these are of any help) This error report follows a total program crash and shut down and naturally I´m not able to watch the video.

Have many common codecs installed (XviD, DivX 3.11, 4, 5,) and video + audio work fine while playing these. Tried installing Nemo 433, Nemo Pack 5 Build7 and someother AC3 audio upgrades but always the same error report and crash!

I use Windows XP and uppgraded recently to WMP 9.00.00.2980
Please give me an answer to what is causing this problem???

    Tnx
    Rob
