  1. I decided to make my first effort with Instant Copy. So using the movie Personal Velocity, I was able to create a DVD+RW with virtually 100% quality (this DVD has both a Widescreen and Narrowscreen version so I deleted the latter.) I then copied to my disc and tried to play it with InterVideo WinDVD 4 and it would not play. I then tried to play it with Windows Media Player and it played fine!! Then took it off my computer and tried it in my stand alone DVD players...and no go. Any ideas about why this would work in Media Player but no where else?

    Hi just a thought.

Many standalones will not play +rw or +r format. I have found some will play -r but not -rw.

In windows media player did you just open the vobs or the ifo.

There are a number of files required to make it dvd compliant.
    a VIDEO_TS.IFO & VIDEO_TS.BUP
    A VTS_01.IFO & VTS_01.BUP plus all the vob files.

Do you have all of these ?
Are the in a folder on your dvd called - VIDEO_TS

Did you burn the disk or did IC7 burn the disc. Try Nero or Record now.
I use Nero mainly - using the dvd video template.
    Hope this help.

  3. My standalone players normally play all of the DVD+r and DVD+rw that I make with Pinnacle Studio 8.

I have all the same files on the DVD+rw that are on the original DVD. (Note however that the files I have are slightly different than the ones you mentioned -

    VTS_01_0.IFO rather than VTS_01.IFO
    and
    VTS_01_0.BUP rather than VTS_01.BUP )

Yes I created this DVD+rw using IC7 not by using a 3rd party program. (Of course I used DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD originally to my hard disk.)

Thanks for your reply. Tomorrow I will try on another disc and see if that makes any difference -
