I had some problems with "Enemy at the gates" and now I have the same with "Ronin". I can't decode the movie from divx to .mpg (to create a vcd so I can watch the movie on my standalone dvd player) because my tmpgenc doesn't decode the audio along. And if I want to get the audio out of the movie with virtualdub I can't choose "full processing mode" only "direct stream copy". But the audio I get out with the "direct stream copy" really suxx . In "enemy at the gates" there were some flaws in it but it was still watchable, but "ronin" is impossible to listen to, it's one big flaw
So my question to you guys: did anyone ever get the audio out of the divx in a way that the saved .wav or .ac3 had no errors in it?

I may have had the same Enemy at the Gates copy and did some research. I found another copy with MP3 sound so I haven't tried the method. This is what I was intended to try. Maybe it works:
Save the audio with direct stream copy as .ac3 file. Get a copy of Azid (www.doom9.org) and convert the ac3 file to wav. This wav can be fed to TMPGEnc.
Again I haven't tried it but it looks to me like the way to do it.
If you try it, please let me know if it worked.

Willem
