hi, i have an xvid with ac3 sound and need to convert the sound stream to mp3 for use on an archos av500. I was using virtual dub and simply selected 'direct stream copy' for the video then 'full processing mode' for the sound. However when I try to set the audio compression to 44,100hz @ 192kbps, the only mp3 format options that come up are all 24,000hz or lower and there is no 44,100hz options. Can anybody help? thanx

thanks for the help. I downloaded and installed both of these and restarted, then tried to run vdub again. Unfortunatly there was no change, still no 44,1000hz options. Any ideas?

Are you sure that you selected Lame MP3 codec for the audio compression

ahhhh, thats the problem! There wasn't actually a lame option as it appears the version of the codec I had, had not installed properly. I have all the options now. many thanks!! However, It appeared not to have like 44,100hz and an error message came up. So i put it at 48,000hz and it started fine, is this normal?
