hi, im tryin to convert a divx movie coded with divx4 codec into an mpg.. so i follow the instructions on one of the guides, and try to rip the audio first, then put it into tmpgenc.. however , wen i try to rip the audio using virtualdub, it says "Error initializing audio stream decompression: The request conversion is not possible. Check to make sure you have the right codec."
Thing is, i installed codec, and i dont have compression on..... any help?![]()

Can you play the DivX file in WMP (windows media player)? In VDub choose file information and see what type of codec the audio is saved as (might also want to d/load GSpot from the tools section and run the divx file on it).
I suspect that the audio might be encoded as AC3, in which case VDub can't decode it. Take a look at:

ur probably right.. well what i ended up doing was that i just put the audio thing at 'source video' instead of 'full processing mode' which was what it was b4.. btw it was encoded in divx 4..
lol which guide do i look at?
