    You've probably installed "one codec too many". I had this problem too, after finally cleaning up after Nimo's mess. If you use old media player, you can see what codecs and filters are used when playing a particular AVI, and change the settings for them - one or more will have a "flip" option, that you either have to check or uncheck.
