Pioneer A04 firmware problem

Hello. Does anyone else have a problem with firmware 1.4 and the player not being able to read a RW disc of any type (CD/DVD)? I upgraded my player a month ago and have not been able to read or write to a RW disc at all. I tried Nero (several versions) and GearPro DVD 6.0 to no avail. Any help would be great. Thank you.

I use ULEAD DVDWS & it only burns to DVD-RW successfully. Then I can use Nero to "copy" the DVD to a DVD-R. If I try to burn straight to DVD-R it always skips at some point in my standalone. I'm using the 1.4 firmware also.

I had a similar problem with the 1.40 firmware. But in my case i couldn't erase an RW with any program, and if i tried it would ruin the RW disc with errors.
I did some searching and found out that the 1.40 firmware is rather "buggy". However some people will argue that.

Anyways, to fix this, i used the hacked downgrade flash. The flash prog searches for the key to your drive and then processes and flashes your firmware to whichever one you want. Im currently running 1.33 2X for all.
I haven't had no problems whatsoever and i can once again erase RW's.
