    How do I convert a JPG image to a MPG still image?

    open it in the video part of tmpge and click start it will make it a mpg

  3. Technically, TMPGEnc encoder will *not* make an mpeg video still. It will only make a very short mpeg video. Since most people on this forum are authoring for VCD or SVCD, I assume you want a VideoCD or SuperVCD-compatible mpeg still. There are a number of different ways to do this. If you want an SVCD still, I think the easiest way is to load a .jpg file in the video source of TMPGEnc, load the SVCD template, and encode. Then download a tool called TSCV (www.ttool.org), go to the "Still" tab and press the button that converts your single-frame mpeg video to an mpeg still. I believe this simply changes a code in the file from "E0" (video) to "E1" (still). You can do it other ways as well. If you have Nero CD burning software (www.ahead.de) you can drag-drop image files into it (along with a short dummy video file) and burn a VCD or SVCD image to disc as an .nrg file. Then you can download vcdimager (www.gnu.org/software/vcdimager) and run the vcdxrip utility to extract all the (still) images. Hope this helps.
