  1. ok by the looks of this.....approx. 795 MB of MPEG data onto an 80min/700MB disc
    ive got a 716mb avi...im makin a vcd..its 120min in length..so i just cut it in half..convert..and should be able ta fit on 2 80min 700mb cd's right?

so it dont really matter what the size is of the file...but i can fit upta 80 min of it on a cd regardless if its over 700mb n as long as its under 80min

    am i seeing this right?

OK. i only going to say this once: the size of the avi has absolutely nothing to do with the the final outcome. its the length that does. if you stick with standards, then you can fit roughly 80 minutes on a 700MB disc. it all has to do with the bitrate of the mpg.

Not enough details. Maybe, maybe not.

Just make one big MPEG1 (x)(s)VCD-compliant file, and cut it with a cutter like TMPGenc at 695 megs and it should work for you.

CDs are dirt cheap. Does it really matter if it takes one or 10 discs?

  5. There's no reason you can't fit your movie on one VCD if the avi file is only 716mb. If you go to www.kvcd.net, you can learn how to fit 2-3 hours of good quality video on one CD using TMPGEnc.
