  1. I'm looking at picking up the Cendyne 4x burner, the DVR-15 this weekend as I've heard that it is identical to the Pioneer A05, minus the good manual & tech support. I'd be paying $185 @ Fry's Electronics. What reasons would I have not to pick up this burner?
As for 4x media, I've heard www.esbuy.com has some cheap 4x discs, and some people have had success. Anyone have experience with these discs with this burner and have comments? Should I be safe in ordering a 25 pack?
Anything else I should or would want to know?

    Thanks,

    Dan

The only reason NOT to do it is the hassle of Fry's on the weekend. Well that and if you are really budget minded you can find (with some work) it a little cheaper. See

I use this machine and am very happy. Turns out I get my media from esbuy. Been using their version of the Ritek 4X.

    It's all good.

  3. Cheapest I've ever seen the drive was $139 at Staples ($299-$60 Instant Rebate-$50 Mail In Rebate - $50 Coupon) But $149-$169 is more realistic of the good price.

I believe these sales re-occur within a month or two. If you want, hold off, check out weekly at Frys, Office Max or Staples (check web sites) and if the price is better within the next 2 months grab it.

But if you want it now, anything under $200 is a respectable price.
