  1. I have a freind who owns a Pioneer 333. He burned some VCDs with his Mac using Toast. They play the video fine but no sound. They play fine on his Mac. I burned him an XSVCD and mailed it to him. Playes the video find but no sound. I played the XSVCD on my Apex 600 before sending to him and it was fine. It also plays fine on his Mac and on my PC. Any ideas? His 333 plays DVDs just fine with both video and sound.

    Is your player properly connected?
Do you have the correct audio settings in the player's setup?

  3. Yes. I asked him if it played DVDs ok and he said yes with sound. So the problem is only associated with trying to play VCDs or SVCDs. They play with video and no sound. The one I made for him played fine on my Apex 600 with both video and sound.

  4. Ok, mystery solved. My friend tried playing a DVD after claiming that it worked and found to his great surprise that it no longer plays sound with DVDs either. So the problem is with his player.

  5. ..........and the latest. The problem actually turned out to be his connection to his TV but now when the XSVCD and the VCD he made play the audio sounds as though the people inhaled hellium, his description, and DVDs play just fine. Again, the XSVCD I made from him with all the standard audio settings in TMPGenc sounded just perfect on my Apex.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this problem?
