Hi all,I am using a firewire capture card to transfer footage form my dv camcorder to my computer. They are captured smoothly as .AVI and I can play them fine - even though they are v.big!! However when I convert AVI to MPG (1,2 or 4 )during the conversion I get horizontal lines on my footage, they are most noticeable when the subject is moving fast. I have loaded all codecs but does not make any difference. I have a 1.4 Athlon when 0.5 GB of memory / win98. Please can anyone Help!??? Thanks

Sounds like your source is interlaced, you need to de-interlace, don't know what software you are using but you should be able to figure the rest out

Hi M8,
SO during the initial capture to AVI (I am using VideoWave 3) there should be a de-interlace option? I us virtualdub to convert the AVI to mpg.
Thanks
